Typography
Our typefaces
We've paired a lively serif with a hardworking sans, playing them off of each other to provide structure and personality to our brand materials.

Primary brand typeface

Secondary brand typeface
Grenette, our soft and sturdy serif, is used for headlines and primary statements to deliver our message with a kind, editorial authority. When used at the semibold weight, Grenette's rounded forms and sweet nuances feel both old-school and new-school in a way that is fresh yet familiar.
Polymath is our workhorse sans that steps up for everything else. Its geometric foundations have been carefully optimized for readability at every size, allowing the content that we deliver to feel approachable. We've taken advantage of Polymath's customizable features, putting together a set of distinct weights and open, accessible forms unique to Propel.
Type hierarchy
The table below shows how we have configured our type system to work in our mobile app.
Although overall sizes will need to be adapted for different surfaces, all materials created under the Propel brand should use these type settings and follow the same hierarchy logic to ensure consistency and legibility.

Usage guidelines
Grenette vs. Polymath
Grenette is always shown at larger sizes and reserved for primary headlines or short, impactful statements.
For body text, sub-headlines, captions, and statements that are over two sentences, use Polymath instead.

Polymath vs. Polymath Text
Polymath is used for non-headline text larger than 16px.
We use Polymath Text for body copy or anything 16px and below. The letterforms in the Text weight have some extra breathing room, and the shapes are tweaked for legibility, which makes it easier to read longer form copy at small sizes.
